FRIGHT NIGHT
This poster is designed to attract people to attend the Fright Night carnival, it does this by showing the time and date of the festival in big letters so that people know exactly when the event is happening, it also has the words "free entry' against a background that will make them stand out more, so that people are more likely to notice and be drawn towards attending. They only show how it available to for families by using a cartoony art stye, with lots of vibrant colours that will seem more attractive to a younger audience. The format of this advertisement is a poster, this will be useful because it can be distributed throughout the city so that it can reach the maximum amount of people, it would be better to advertise on different platforms, such as social media and in magazines because it will allow a wider variety of people to see it, and they might pay more attention to it as poster can sometimes not stand out from their environment and go unnoticed. The majority of the image is taken up by a cartoon style drawing of monsters and halloween related things, the cartoon uses lots of bright and vibrant colours in a way that is reminiscent to classic horror posters of 50s and 60s. The text maintains this art style by using bright colours, high saturation and unusual fonts that are meant to draw the attention of people towards them. At the bottom of the page there is a border which shows all of the sponsors and contributors to the funding and planning of the event, this means that people are constantly being reminded of the companies and services that made this event possible. The target audience for this poster is younger audiences, this is because of all the bright colours and cartoon-esque art style, this will also appeal to parents as they will know that is somewhere that they can take their family which will be appropriate.
THE ASSEMBLE HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA 2013
This picture is also an illustration. This uses a much more simple house style, using only dark red, dark blue and black. This more simple house style allows the image to put a stronger effect on certain parts of the image, it also helps to make the text feel less blocky and thereby makes the poster more visually appealing, which will draw people towards it more and thereby increase the number of those who will be attending the event. The poster is trying to advertise an event and make people want to buy tickets and go to the event, the event could be better advertised
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD
The purpose of this product is to promote the film 'Night of the living dead" and also entertain the wearer of the shirt. It does this by having the name of the film in a large font directly in the centre of the t shirt, it also features stills and images from the film and at the bottom the logo of the film. the t shirt format is a good method of advertising because of how it can reach a wider platform of people than posters (which can often be ignored) and newspaper/magazine advertisements which only reach a specific target demographic. The use of the bright green stands out from the rest of the print on the t-shirt, which means that people know exactly what is being promoted before they see the other images. The black and white colouring of the images helps to serve the horror vibe of the film and also makes each image more visually appealing

Glastonbury
This package's primary purpose is to advertise Glastonbury music festival. This
Tramlines
These are primarily used to advertise the tramlines festival except for the ticket which would allow people entry into the festival. Both advertisements promote the product by displaying the logo and having the title of the festival in big words alongside it. They also use a basic house style of colours that stands out well and can be seen more distinctly when placed next to other posters. The logo is easily recognisable as the logo for the tramlines festival, because of the design choice to use the arrows that represent the map showing the paths of the trams. This is even more significant seeing as how many cities don't use a tram system as part as public transport, making them even more iconic to sheffield.
The main form of advertisement for tramlines is via posters, they used to also distribute t shirts advertising the festival, but havent done so since 2013, this may be because the cost of them was too high for the revenue they generate and the amount of people they draw in, seeing as the majority of people within the city are already aware of the existence of the festival, the t shirts only offer a simple reminder which the posters could do just as well for cheaper. The posters seem to go for a more minimalist layout, using mainly a red and white design, whilst occasionally bringing in other colours such as blue and purple for smaller parts of the poster. This could be because of the wide variety of muic that is played at tramlines, it's impossible to represent it all in a poster but still have it be cohesive. so by having a simple design it can represent the entirety of the festival.
